Care and Maintenance
Care :
- Before washing you should de-tangle The Shell hair using a gentle brush from its ends to its roots. We recommend you brush your hair extensions before you put it on and after you remove it. It is normal for hair extensions to shed a
few strands but that does not mean it will hamper the over all volume of your
Hair Extensions at any point. It is normal for hair extensions & hair
toppers to have a few grey or red strands, which we try our best to remove it,
but since it is 100% human hair, it is very natural & not a sign of a
damaged product. - We recommend washing your The Shell hair extensions after 10-15 uses. Unless you wear it daily, you can probably use your best judgement in how often to wash it. You don't need to use any styling products on your hair extensions but if you do, be gentle as to preserve the life of your Shell Hair extensions.
Storage:
The Shell Hair extensions will last you for years depending on how often you wear it and how well you take care of it. Hence we recommend, please store it in a clean plastic packet or a satin pouch which we provide you with.
Cleaning:
1. We do not recommend washing Hair Toppers with shampoo, as it may make the hair rough.
2. Before washing, you should detangle The Shell Hair using a gentle brush from its ends to its roots. We recommend brushing your hair extensions before you put them on and after you remove them.
3. Apply hair conditioner or hair spa while washing it. There is no need to oil it, as these are dead hair. Keep the conditioner on the hair topper for at least 1.5 hours, after which you can wash it.
4. After washing, let your hair extensions dry naturally. You may use a hair serum or heat protectant before you style them for a neater yet shinier result.

Hair volumizers are hair extensions specially designed to be attached at
the roots for extra volume and length at ends depending on individual
preferences. Our volumizers for hair come in many shades and lengths

How do I care for and maintain clip-in volumizers?
Maintaining volumizers is essential to expand their lifespan & maintain their
texture. Frequent washes are not required for The Shell Hair volumizers.
However, apply a moisturizing conditioner, leaving it on for 30 minutes.
Rinse out the conditioner thoroughly and air dry just like your natural hair.
We do not recommend shampooing hair extensions as it may cause the
hair to feel rough in texture. Always comb the extensions after clipping
them off; it increases the lifespan of the extensions.
Colored volumizers tend to fade, even with less usage. If the color
becomes dull, you can always recolor the extensions to refresh their
vibrancy. To retain their color retention, limit washing the extensions, and
only wash them in cold water. Additionally, if you do use heat styling tools,
apply a heat protectant spray/cream spray first and follow up with a
nourishing serum after styling.
Storage: To keep your volumizers tangle-free and safe, gently comb and
detangle them before storing them in The Shell Hair box. This simple step
will help maintain the quality of the volumizer, ensuring that it maintains its
optimal performance and appearance over time.
Can I use regular hair products on volumizers?
As The Shell Hair Volumizers are made of 100% human hair, you can apply
the same/regular hair care products you use for your natural hair. We recommend using only moisturizing conditioners or spa creams, heat protectants before styling, and nourishing lightweight serums to lock in the moisture and shine.
How long do Clip in Extensions Last?
If you regularly use your clip in hair extensions and care for them well, they can last you anywhere between 24-48 months. But again, like all hair extensions this depends on how well you take care of them.
Which type of hair extension is best?
In terms of quality, human hair extensions are the winners, if they are looked after well, they can last for years. As the cheaper alternative, synthetic hair is not very long lasting – around 2-4 months. For the best quality hair extensions, it is best to steer clear of synthetic and opt for real human hair.
